AMAZING THREE DIMENSIONAL GRAPHICS
Anonymous No.720429787 [Report]
It really does have that 90's pre-render look to it, only really bad looking. Actual 3DFX rendered games look better.

When are we gonna have games that ACTUALLY look like 90's CG?

Man, my nan had Bryce on her Mac back in the early 00s. Putting together cool scenes and watching it slowly render was so cool.

I had no idea about the difference between software and hatdware accelerated rendering and it blew my mind when I installed a voodoo card and played some games I had before like Midtown Madness and NFS 3. They suddenly has new effects and ran super smooth.

I remember playing NFSU first time on geforce 4 after geforce 2. Suddenly, roads were wet, cars were smooth, had reflections, lights were bright and soft and there were girls at the start of the race. That blew my mind.

By the time underground came out accelerator cards weren't really a thing anymore. There was an advancement with shiny surfaces, I remember pixel shader 3 toggles in varous games like max payne 2 and sc chaos theory. Only the most modern cards had that option.

3D Mark 2001 is using the same version of MaxFX that was used for Max Payne 1. It's using DX8.1. But I believe second edition also has Havok Physics engine enabled.

It's even using the same randomized fire effect, has the same light map resolutions, models are roughly the same poly counts.
