Paramount and Nickelodeon would have to be smart enough to see the value in actually trying, instead of just farming licensed garbage out to mobile developers and a company literally called GameMill.
They just aren't willing to put in a budget. The last two times they tried getting a real developer to make something for them, it was a disaster, because they were getting Platinum's C-team.
Then, they killed whatever hope existed for Nick All Star Brawl by putting up way too much red tape, and not committing to a long tail of support.

the story is centered around the world being in sort of a stalemate/slow grind of the fire nation victory if not for the intervention of the avatar so nothing really important can happen that isn't centered around basically the events of the show
on top of that they wussed out of allowing aang to kill the fire lord in order to keep it on the lower end of PG which indirectly limits how far you can really go with other material you make later
and it will be a cold day in hell when the corporations that hold the IP and the gigantic homosexuals in the creative departments those corporations have at their disposal make a game that isn't horrible dogshit

That was amazing though. Aang struggles with the idea of fighting Ozai for most of the series, trying to compromise, bargain, use bending cheats from quacks. Even the previous Avatars advise him to destroy Ozai. It's only with spirutual guidance from an ancient turtle and staying true to the teachings of his monk father that he achieves "true balance" by sealing Ozai's bending AND not letting his soul to be tainted by murder.

The best way to do it is just replace Aang with an OC and let the player do whatever. Many genres of RPG would work with this basic concept. It could be as simplistic as a text-based CYOA, a JRPG type of game, hell even an RPG maker game, or it could be a full-fledged action RPG emphasizing the kung-fu influences, or a crpg emphasizing party tactics. Even a fucking musou game would work. The story writes itself, the setting is pure gold so it's not complicated. It's just >copyright that gets in the way and prevents anyone making this game for money. As a result I'm pretty sure the highest quality avatar game we've gotten is that fucking porn game.
