It was obvious this was bullshit when they announced cartridges have a maximum capacity of 64gb. Not a single switch 2 game is truly physical and they all require an initial only connection and verification to play. These are just plastic CD keys which are more inconvenient than simply downloading games.

tendies we disagree on many things but I guess on one issue we agree: the digitaltroon pclard menace should be wiped off this board
game key cards are tanking in sales and tendies are boycotting them, most of ps4/ps5/switch games are 100% physical with zero download requirements
you lost steamie, you literally lost, no amount of kvetching will change this, eventually nintendo will have to find a workaround to mentally buckbreak (You) and I look forward to it as you make another seething thread about physical games with those fat greasy fingers smelling of cheetos and cum

I mean, it is. Optional, post release DLC is nothing new.

Shh, this is supposed to be an outrage thread
You're not supposed to point out that the last 20 years have had games with digital revisions and updates and DLC that didn't exist on the physical media except through later releases
You're also not supposed to point out that physical games that couldn't do downloadable updates also did quiet revisions/updates where v1.1 and even v1.2 versions would replace the ones initially sold in stores. That's why when you go to download ROMs for older games, you'll see different revisions listed. Even Mario 3 got replaced after a few months.

So future bananza game cards will have the dlc on card?
Anonymous No.720471169 [Report]

No, because it's a paid addon, not an update.
A future edition may be released with the DLC included, however.

I recently spent hours and hours installing and downloading updates for all my PS3 games on my PS3 super slim.
That console is over 20 years old, i can still download DLC and updates for it's games.
Why should i be mad new content was released for a game that is complete on the cartridge?

This. Octo Expansion was digital only and never got a physical release. However, the fact that Donkey Kong was $70 and got a $20 dlc with a seemingly paltry amount of content is a bit scummy.

Why would you want your game to have the slowest load times possible anways?

Wait so physical switch 2 games have longer load times than the eshop versions?

tbf switch 1 games were barely physical. you got a dinky plastic case with no inserts, fucking ds cases felt more premium

Yeah, that's part of the reason third party devs like the key cards; they force the games to be installed so they'll actually run decently. https://www.gamesradar.com/games/open-world/star-wars-outlaws-is-a-controversial-switch-2-game-key-card-release-but-one-ubisoft-dev-says-thats-because-the-standard-cartridges-simply-didnt-give-the-performance-we-needed/

Is this true? Never buying a switch 2 if that's the case. I wasn't planning on anyways, but if that is truly the case then ny interest is below 0%
