it's the cards that get me, i don't even really know why it infuriates me so much. in essence, it really is the exact same thing as an ability button in any kind of menu but seeing it as a gay little card i'm holding is so fucking beyond lame i can't describe it

Tome is pretty fun, Dungeons of Dredmor is good if you've never played it. DoomRL is still a blast. And I've always had a soft spot for IVAN, I love the crazy material and limb systems. I don't know how many roguelikes you've played so I could go into more details or recc more obscure ones if you want.

I'd rather have Steam littered with all of the above but have 0 AI slop, like it was in 2021. AI slop is worse than any one of those.

I tried a bunch of others but didn't care for them, like DCSS, any broguelike you care to name, etc
