I love the optimisation tool, if you're game runs poorly it's your own fault. Managed to shave of like 3 ms the past for days and can still do more.

It's such a copium, IDtech 5 was so shit, RAGE couldn't match with Borderlands even with shitty level design that prevented rendering huge open world areas, frustrum culling was so bad so you saw how objects loads on the corner of your screen if you moved the camera fast

i just dont understand how we managed to get games like this almost 10 years ago that ran smooth as butter and still is one of the best looking games ever made and now new games have ps3 tier graphics and look like washed out sub 60 fps dogshit. its so disheartening really how little progress has been made to optimization since then

CryEngine was shilled as a free* multi-purpose game engine way before UE4, they failed miserabley because no documentation, middleware like Scaleforms require licensing or reimplementation. In the end they sold CE3 to Amazon, they made a few MMO and abandoned it too. CE5 is a meme for CryTech only
IdTech was pushed as a multipurpose engine during gen7-8, and they failed too, now it's only an engine for FPS for 2 studios

Fortnite yeet dab is proof that if you made something you know how it works. Timmy copes and seethes that other devs don't know how to use it or wait until the very end to optimize, but it's a moron who blames people for using the hammer side of the tool. If you don't teach people how to use the tool properly, they'll use it wrong. If Fortnite yeet dab is such a great shining example of how to make a game, then opensource to the yeet dabbin' code. Ready or Not ran fine on UE4, but when they ported it to UE5, the game went to complete shit, then they added consolecuck crap and it got worse.
