How do I get good enough to have one, I did two runs today, both were okay one I beat kolmi but I swear you either get good perks or good wands it feels so rare to get a good run where I get both, and I've had plenty of good runs, but I always end up dying before it turns into a god run.

How do people normally setup a god run? Head down to beat kolmi and get a good wand / some spells and then beat the alchemist, then black hole through to parallel worlds and break the perk machines for unlimited perks?

If I kill kolmi and then collect all the orbs after does that not affect anything anymore?

If you mean god run with infinite rerolls it's really formulaic. Perks are more rng at the start but wands have next to zero rng between "fixed" drops and spell farms.
If you're super new at this I'd recommend hitting The Gold just to fish for some key immunities in the original world. But dont get the reroll cost too high or it'll be annoying later, 12~24k max.
You have to play well though and try to always look for ways to dig out of mountains and be confident dealing with steve/big steve. Around hiisi or jungle you should have all the pieces to start breaking it appart and going back to surface
For wands it's going to be either the tower cheese or dragon/kolmi/tiny for a good base, spells I like to make trips in and out of fungals fishing for speed up/add mana and some okay wands bases. Always check eye room on hiisi base. You can take another gold room detour into hell to finish for some high tier spells.
At the point you get ambrosia with a teleport+fast black hole wand you're safe to cross EDR, just trust the stains.

>Go fuck up the spider boss, get nolla and copy random
>Go clean up the overgrown cavern (careful with poly tho), get every wand you need
>Get the swapper-lightning-speed up-deercoy parallel world tele wand
>Break reroll machines
>Become almost god and almost invincible
>Get a dozen shields, liquid vacuum and a necrobot/polymage farm
>Eat 6 million seconds of poly immunity and become true god
Enjoy the god run

>Try some different wands/elements
I'm not getting it? Is there something you unlock later that greatly expands the game because it seems like a flash game you play for 30 min and then never touch again. I did explore the outside for a bit, found that worm item and managed to not get killed by a swarm of enemies. Doesnt seem to do much though

Go down as far as you can. The spells and their interplay gets insane once you reach the bottom, and even more insane once you break the main path open. The wand building is incredibly fun, and the game is so ridiculous integer overflows, bug abuse and faulty spell programming are an integral mechanic of long runs

I finally had a run good enough to leave the main path and pretty much just stopped playing because I know I'll die and never have a chance like this again. Mechanically Noita is so cool but it is designed so poorly.

Had a good run, strong wands, 3 immunites, wanted to go through the dark area west of the jungle for extra hearts so I put orbiting saw blades to deal with dark spiders. Except I had homing on, shot upwards, then it zoomed and hit some other monster to my left and I got clipped by the saw blades and died. Classic.

Huge spoilers.
In endgame one of the things you can do is create a literal sun and set it on the moon, which is much higher in the sky than the "main path" is going down. The sun itself deals true damage on an aura around it so the only way to even move it is to achieve godhood through 99.9999999999% damage reduction with stainless armor stacking. This gives you a cool spell.
Then you can go again and make a dark sun and set it in the dark moon all the way down in the depths of hell. This gets you another cool spell.
You can also crash the sun and the dark sun and it's absolute kino but I won't spoil this one.

After only ever having beat the end boss once I managed to get a super OP run last week and now I'm sitting on a save file where I can just walk into parallel worlds as much as I want. I've blown up enough of the main world that a lot of the quests are probably fucked. Is there any reason not to go to New Game+?

Be patient and through. Always scrape the first 3 zones. Use the wiggling egg's worm blood to get the hearts in the dark area.
If you can, go do the cabin early. If you are good enough, you can get a couple higher tier wands from the Frozen Vault with the cabin wand.
A simple spark bolt trigger + plasma beam cross easily kills the bridge boss for good wands.
Don't collapse holy mountains, ever. I'd rather loop around past lava lake to snow before I collapse.

I'm sure it will end in some stupid way, but so far this run is looking good and my wand is decent too, just need a decent digging wand and some way to heal and maybe I can turn it into a god run.

don't do the sun quests before doing the quests that involve living creatures and the moon
t. speaking from experience having to move them away just because I wanted to play around with Kolmi

By the time I've got a god run going the run is infested with horrible lag spikes and even crashes.

had one run where I entered a parallel world (took quit some luck to find good digging spells and ambrosia) then I picked up some random thing that depleted my hp and I died. (iirc I picked up some orb again, and it was cursed)
sometimes the game can be exhausting in how picking up something random deletes hours of work. and if you savescum/ look up everything you might as well cheat to give yourself everything you want to begin with, skipping the entire ordeal.

It says the orb is cursed and it even looks different. The pain only lasts for a limited time so you can survive picking them up by standing an a puddle of ambrosia.

Curiosity got me killed then. I didn't know what the curse would entail but iirc I also picked up that esssence of earth that causes random explosive projectiles, which also kept hurting me slowly. I think the explosions caused the ambrosia puddles to slowly deplete, but I'm not entirely sure anymore.
the run was fucked by that essence anyways.

oh, after looking up what that is I think I remember walking past one of them when going east. but when I walked past it I had no essence on me, so I just forgot that the essence eater exists when I needed it.
