Gunplay feels good and combat is fun.
Grind is about getting new gear for build variety instead of numbers going up
It has a sense of progression despite it being a roguelite

I think High Stakes was when I last played and I got sick of it pretty quick, levels and upgrades felt barely consequential while everything killed you insanely fast so the optimal play style was to either just kite everything forever or stunlock it with the main revolver.

I remember being pretty hyped for it when they initially revealed the game as a Painkiller-like, only to find out some time later that it's actually a looter shooter and immediately losing all interest.

Yeah its pretty damn good even though I was initially expecting something else entirely while being a more linear game. Its kind of like if Dark Souls, Hunt Showdown, and NuDOOM had a baby.
