It's the most completely soulless corporate product vidya you could imagine with no sauce, no steeze, no style, no nothing, no story, no fun NPCs, the worst map in the series, completely retarded movement and stuff completely unrelated to skating, the safest gloves on fortnite kid art direction for skate youc ould imagine, always online live service jank and bugs out the ass and "b-but they will fix it, it's just early access" apologists and yet the in-game microtransaction shop works fucking flawlessly

Just play Tony Hawk instead of Skate 4 if you're going to turn on all of the assists. The game shouldn't have had them in the first place since they go completely against the original three.

I just want sessions controls and then i'll be content. it's almost impossible for me to enjoy these flick controls after spending years mastering session. doing everything on one analog stick just doesn't feel right.

Its a lot of fun, despite the aggressive monetization. I played it with my cousin last night, and we've both been waiting for a new skate since 3 was a disappointment 10000 years ago. The map is decent from what we've seen so far, haven't unlocked the 2nd area yet but theres good ledges and ramps all over the place to just jam on, and the skate parks we went to for missions or just passing through were all well made. I wont be playing this nonstop, but its definitely scratching the itch thats been lingering for a decade+

The entire art style of the game is off putting, but we live in a post Fortnite society, unfortunately. But like you said, if you know what you're looking for, or just have fun crusing around until you find somewhere cool, there are plenty of good places to bust out some tricks. Even moreso if you play with a friend - my cousin and I have been passing the controller off while we play skate since the first one, its pretty fucking cool to actually skate together for the first time. It also makes challenges incredibly easy, one person can carry an entire group through challenges and everyone gets credit. They really need to increase the reward for doing missions together, though - 5 extra points is insulting

What was wrong with it? I recalled it being a general improvement over 2 on the gameplay front, but the map and story was weaker, but not enough for me to consider it worse than 2 overall. Multiplayer menuing was a bit of a mess though for banging out multiplayer challenges.

3 just had a boring map, every time I've gone back to it i've just thought "man, i wish i was playing skate 2 instead." i can't think of a single fun place to skate in that entire game, and 2 was almost perfect in that regard

It may not look the best but I appreciate the small file size. Under 10 gigs for a live service game is almost unheard off, that fact alone means I'll probably never uninstall it.
