How so? Does anyone actually fight them other than getting in close and either knocking the heads off one by one or shooting the main body? I'm not even saying it's bad, but I don't see how it's particularly fun.

Post-lord vessel content is still some of the best in the series

It's graphics have aged really well which can't be said for most 3D PS3/360 games.

The Switch version is the definitive version of DS1

The sound direction and the music's design in this game is actually underrated and the best in the entire franchise, things so simple like the sound played when you click something in the start menu and the music in the character creation screen helps to create such a beautiful ethereal ambiance that just doesn't exist in any of the games From made since.

It's the souls game that feels more organic. Also art direction is arguably the best and the movement feels like it has more weight than its sequels. Yeah sure lost izalith whatever but still; it's a more complete "journey" than what you do in other games. I don't think they ever did an interconnected world just like this one. Getting lost; ending up who the fuck knows where, and then all of a sudden opening a shortcut and reconnecting with a different entrance of an earlier area was quite the experience

the bluepoint offices need to be attacked by an armed state and face military tribunal before they get their claws on ds1

Blighttown was good actually, and for the reason that it used the minimum space necessary for each encounter

Forget open spaces where you can maneuver perfectly like in every other entry, you get a little plank platform with holes in it, better watch your feet like a real fighter would have to.
The area also lends itself to multiple playthroughs, since there are multiple paths down

all thanks to heavy depth of field

The second half of the game is good besides Lost Izalith.
