is the implication that there are zero smart spiders outside of the ones that the silkmother uplifted? meaning spiders are naturally lesser vicious unfeeling animalistic monsters that seek only death and destruction to the rightful buggo superior race?

Was Hornet's mom born like this???

If we assume GILF uplifted the native bugs of Pharloom ala Pale King upon her arrival, she deserves some goddamn respect for the small gift of conciousness.

Most people in the world of HK are like that.

All GMS did was give them Spiderman superpowers. And maybe a cute dress.

>big fat attacks deal 2 hearts of damage
>shiny bladed attacks deal 1 heart of damage twice
is there literally any mechanical difference between them? feels like a weird distinction rather than a charming detail, especially considering there aren't any defensive moves that actually care about number or damage of enemy attacks
i guess you can clash with blades but not with with clubs? but that's more about attack style, just like explosions or projectiles

So on the silk butterflies, we see them free Horny from her cage in the beginning, we see them being conducted by Lace, we see them leading us to the Citadel, we see them leading us through the mist, and we also see how they are seemingly the extracted souls of bugs for sake of lighting and the powersource of automatons. Is there anyway all these aspects fit together in a cohesive way ?

Isn't that all bugs? All bugs start of as normal bugs but then Pale Beings give them sentience cause they have a mental/biological need to rule others.

There are multiple cases of non-pale beings starting their own colonies and civilizations, of which the members are sentient.
Ant Queen and the coral king before GMS fucked things up in pharloom, and the Mantis and Bee tribes before pale king.

yeah, if you're using the magnetite dice or Druid's eye. Dice won't avoid both hits in multi-hit attacks and Druid's eye give you the same amount of silk for 1 hit even if it takes two masks off you so is better against multi-hit enemies

Whose to say they didn't have their own long gone Pale Beings?

>2 damage hit
magnetite dice activation will block all the damage
druid's eye(s) charm will generate silk once
if you have a single skull mask it'll break the skull and leave you at 1 hp
memory crystal will generate 1 clone
>1 hit twice
magnetite dice activation will block one hit and not the other
druid's eye(s) will generate silk twice
if you have a single skull mask the mask will break and then the remaining hitpoint will be removed and you'll die
memory crystal will generate 2 clones

>silk butterflies
Aren't those just the lumaflies from HK? They're used in streetlights and lamps, and groups of them in Fog Canyon generate electricity by flying around in tight-knit swarms.

That always confused me about the first game, they say that Hollownest is the last civilization standing, that is the Pale King that gives bugs intelligence, but what about all the bug t hat migrate to Hallownest? What about all the pilgrims that go to Pharloom? What about all those places mentioned in the cages of the other weaver childs?

>if you have a single skull mask the mask will break and then the remaining hitpoint will be removed and you'll die
the fractured mask will still save you from double hits
Anonymous No.722914706 [Report]
>>722910131
Maybe, Maybe not. Maybe some species of bug evolved to be intelligent naturally while others stayed the same.

>Hollownest is the last civilization standing
I'd interpret this as the Pale King preemptively asserting the perpetuity of Hallownest out of hubris.
>>722914326
NTA but I'm pretty sure fractured mask with 1 mask underneath can't tank a double hit.

It can. It's the only thing that makes Steel Soul bearable. The only thing it can't save you from is being knocked into hazards.
