Can you imagine that just 30 years ago. The majority of the world played only ONE game. From the few that were nationally and internationally recognized like football, soccer, baseball, it was the one you grew up with and followed for your entire life. Your parents & siblings played or watched it, you could go to your favorite bar an talk about it, the President would occasionally make comments about it. But now we have to constantly move on, from one fad to the next every 5 years or so. There's no sportsmanship or cohesive league, and the "communities" perpetually blow themselves up with scandals and ugliness of character. In hindsight, this is the only way it could have gone, isn't it. Little surprise that single player AAA games - no matter how woke or lack thereof - are the only safe spaces within digital entertainment. Anyway just rambling.
