So which is it? Or is it like with most medium-to-large animals in that they are entirely capable of being endearing or killing you and circumstance is what actually matters? Because a dog can kill someone, doesn't mean that you shouldn't pet any dog ever.

That anteater was raised in captivity, it grew to learn and reconize the keeper who is being very careful
Anteaters are aggressive by the nature of being almost blind, so if something big approaches them too close, they will attack.
They actually warn you when stressed, they stang on two legs and strech their arms wide to appear as big as possible, it's honestly bery intimidating
