Nothing, except TF2 medic is not really fun. That really feels like a job. In OW at least you can kill and stuff...well except with Mercy.

You rely too much on your teammates who don't give a damn about you - but if you do your job poorly, they will blame you.

Medic is giga fun, crossbow having no damage falloff is broken. Not to mention skillshot healing a tmate across the map.

People fawn over a good healer. It's half the reason to play one.

Yes, they will praise and thank you if you do a good job or even help them win.
But they won't do anything to cover you in combat or ensure your safety because the guys you're healing are too busy firing forward so they don't pay attention to what's happening behind them.
Healers need to be saved and protected—but in most games, your survivability is your own problem.
