It's a Sega Saturn / PS1 JRPG that's probably one of the better ones out there. It was made by Game Arts back when they were good and still existed. Combat was great, the dungeons/towns were you can interact with stuff was great, sitting down for meals at set story points to get to interact with characters was well done, being able to go back to earlier towns with NPCs having new dialogue was really well done. Grandia 1 is one of the few games I recommend as a basic JRPG to people, mainly because the rest of the genre is downhill from there.
There's a romance subplot going on, but there's a lot of stuff going on and probably more than you'd expect with Justin's motivation just being "I'm going on adventure!" at the start. Highly recommended. The Steam version has an ugly ass filter over it that smears everything to look terrible, tho.
