In 6 they really put every good aspect from before together nicely, map and missions has tons of variety, making builds/loadouts is meaningful rather than being overpowered, antagonist, world building and setting finally makes sense from the player/revolution pov. Great thematic commentary about zoomers, millenials and boomers. Highly underrated

1, 2 and Primal are different from the bunch but very robust, have great maps and great fights.

5 is great (kinda) but the phasing is absolutely terrible.

I like how in 2 as the game progresses the enemies get more and more terrified of you by reputation alone. Their chatter changes from stuff like "you don't stand a chance!" to comments like "he's coming for us! get to cover!" with a panicked voice.

FC2 gets better the higher the difficulty. You can't just go balls out yolo and instead have to use the stealth system to separate enemies from each other and eliminate them one-by-one.

Also mods that give npcs more diverse weapons becomes terrifying when some dude jumps out of a bush and runs at you with a flamethrower.

No, the stealth works - it just that enemies have a fairly realistic sight and sound range. If you break line of sight with them and move around they spread out to find you, not magically converge on a moving target. What people expect stealth to be is invisibility mode even when firing loud guns, which is what it was changed to in 3. If you stand still and take repeated shots no shit someone is going to home in on your position.

The stealth suit upgrade does reduce enemy vision but its not a night and day effect.

I'm almost certain enemies had magic awareness when I played vanilla and I hated it, basically I could understand a sniper rifle, even if silened (I don't remember if you could do silenced sniper rifles) would still be audible enough for enemies to have an idea of where you are, but I'm pretty certain I would just thump a mortar round and I'd start getting shot at from half a mile away.
Either way I'm almost sure the issue was gone when I replayed it with mods, or at least it was powerful cope+placebo.

Do yourself a favour and turn of the excessive Hud elements, radar, enemy icons etc. (HEY! Stop looking at the map again!) Get some varied weapons, and go raise a guerrilla war in the jungle. Yes, the story is fine on its own but the real gist is finding locations, loot and trying to raise odds for survival and fighting a war without the game holding your hand.

Open world isn't really open if you're being constantly spoon-fed and lead on like a donkey.

This is a problem with every Far Cry from 3 onwards though. NPCs with shotguns are so fucking dangerous on hardcore or infamous. The game playing shotguns straight (as in, they have actual range) unsurprisingly makes them incredibly lethal.

As comfy as the day is going on night raids is really immersive.
