play arena shooters(quake champions)

I do, can only find games mid day tho. Hope it never totally dies out.

I did but then they put the tiny duel maps in the normal map pool and it got really annoying. Some of the abilities were also pretty stupid back then but I've heard they've been nerfed.

Why play quak hampions when Quake Live exists?

all the abilities are pretty useless now you cant get kills with them alone desu. Sorlag acid was annoying as fuck but they made it go away when you pickup health so now thats less op too.

I hate that Quake became a multiplayer only shooter. The original was really damn good, and even Quake 2 wasn't that bad.

I got all the achievements including avatar of death. I ranked diamond in duels. I finished the game, no point in 2 hour queues anymore

I did. I got so pummeled to the ground by the Q3 vetarans it wasn't even funny.
I have a feeling there is no middle ground in this game. It's either bots or some retards who don't know how shooters work or Q3 veterans with 20 years of experience and nothing in-between.

I didn't have much trouble adapting but I had over 1000 hours in TF2 by that point.

quake is the only game where I have truly felt the "bro you can't get into it you'll just get stomped by people who have been playing the game for years" effect. So much of the game is dependent on knowledge that you just do not have starting out and if there's one guy in the match who has that knowledge your ass is getting farmed
