I prefer 2D and wish it was more popular. Every studio has moved to 3D because "that's what gmares want" and it's easier to work with, etc.
I'd love to see more games that have 2D graphics with a 3D world and movable camera, plus with customization (i.e. different costumes or outfits) that shows up in cutscenes, but it's so difficult to make that nobody bothers.
It's so much harder to make 3D models look good. Thr butt in OP's pic has sharp edges/polygons, and the "lineart" under the buttocks looks awful, half black outline with aliasing, half shaded. Maing the model move and bend convincingly is a whole other thing, I can't stand bendy tube arms and badly done butts that warp and distort when the girl bends over.
