Non meme answer is that ideology has set a supermajority of Western artists back 100 years. All Japan China Korea have done is continue iterating on conventional art and animation techniques they've had since WW2. Meanwhile we sold out our companies who then defunded accomplished studios and embraced a complacent lazy mode of creation. It's undeniable that we've sunk far behind industrialized Asian art houses and in particular Japan because they, like us, have some capacity to imbue originality into their works to keep pushing the industry forward.
