Yes but the roguelite part is the worst part about it. Real game changers and fun moves are locked by random chance. Metaprogression is just getting straight up stronger along with some unlocks to add to the pool. Also it is a lot stronger, 75->110+ hp, 2 extra lives, more damage, more mana gen, more money, etc. Ritual(boon) sets aren't very balanced. They're either near worthless or too strong leading to insane crowd clear and damage. The most fun I have is getting shitty enough ones that too strong but introduce some slight facet to my gameplan.
Like fuck me just throw the roguelite shit in the bin, let me choose a handful of things at the run start and maybe at the end of the first island. I really wish this was a just an arcade game with multiple difficulties and slightly randomized stages. Also there being an objective "best route" on the first island really doesn't help either. Makes the whole route picking feel a bit pointless.
