My Brother had one of these. I used it for a bit. Seemed nice. Nut i had an iPhone, and I could also run PS1 games through emulation on it via retroarch.

I bought one used off of ebay around 2014 or so. Used it to play NES and SNES RPGs while riding the bus and waiting for class to start. I loaded Twisted Metal 2 and Resident Evil 3 into the built-in PS1 emulator that came with it, but RE3 didn't work and Twisted Metal 2 was practically unplayable with the shitty controls. Eventually the slider started developing issues and I shoved it into a drawer somewhere.
It would be a lot better if the actual game controls weren't total crap. D-Pad sucks ass, buttons suck ass, the shoulder buttons are beyond horrible, and the two pads that are supposed to act as analog stick replacements are garbage.

Yeah, it was really good for emulating PS1 and Nintendo 64 games on it, but an attachable controller with analog sticks and R2/L2/R3/L3 would be better, now.

I would love a little controller like that for my phone. Not a big fan of using console controllers with bluetooth

I had one, maybe I should dig it up again and see if it still works. I fear that the battery may be fucked though.
Such a shame that not a single phone company ever tried this again in the current year.
So now that the patents have expired, are there any companies making new phones like the Xperia play?
