I mean, Titticut Follies was filmed here. The places you want to avoid are Bridgewater and that. Worcester is kind of just a trashier outland of Boston, like Freeside, and the only reason I’ve ever gone there is the Palladium. Cambridge isn’t much better these days. I’d recommend visiting Marblehead.

People often bring up Life is Strange as a comparison but i don't think it compares at all. It's not comfy, and the dialogue is cringy and feels like it was written by HR.

I'm looking for more than just the dark mystery aspect. Gone home doesn't look like it has any characters to interact with at all. Most of what you do in nitw is interact with characters and get to know them and their little stories. Oxenfree and sallyface look like they might be worth checking out though, thanks.

I think this game had great atmosphere. I think it's mostly due to the cute art style paired with the music, and this sort of melancholy of Autumn paired with fears for the future. The reveals at the end of the story were so fucking bad that they ruined the game, but up to that point it was an enjoyable experience. Although some traits of the main character were rather annoying.
