Stumbled on Quantum Break and Alan Wake 2, but I loved everything else he did. American Nightmare sucked I guess but not because of the writing.
Alan Wake and Max Payne 2 are my favorites of his, hope they nail the remake.

Very hyped for Control 2 and presumably an Alan Wake 2 DLC tie-in like Control 1 had with Alan Wake 2. The two DLCs for Alan Wake 2 so far haven't been anything special, unfortunately.

He was involved in making two games in early 2000s which ranged from okay to excellent depending on personal opinions.

I'm not hyped but I'm interested in what comes out of the Max Payne 1+2 remakes but there are likely other writers involved too. I hope they try something different (and it's pretty much confirmed to be so) because no one need a mgs3 delta remake of the games.

I guess Alan Wake 1 & 2 are okay too but I'm just not personally interested. I played 1 when it came out but I have nothing to play 2 on and wouldn't play it anyway atm.

But you asked about what I think about the person and I don't follow his takes closely but he's obviously quite reserved or even introvert person to the core but he has made well for himself since he's a multi millionaire just writing games and he might be the only Finnish person in such position.

I sometimes wonder how Remedy gets like 30 million budget for games consistently (that money was much more in value 15-20 years ago too) and everything is forgettable except Max Payne and I guess Alan Wake too and even those games are cult classic tier. MP is maybe relatively well known because people think it's a R* game/series and it became one by the 3rd game (technically by 2nd game iirc because MP was already sold to R* by then).

But it's possible Remedy gets paid to make these games because they actually develop some other technology simultaneously because even before/during making of Max Payne in the 90s, they made 3D benchmark stuff.

Herald of Darkness(song) is really good
Herald of Darkness(gameplay segment) is very underwhelming, particularly for how surreal it could have been, like you've got entire environments seamlessly shifting on a lightswitch and it still never gets all that crazy. That's all remedy games lately though, they have the tools to make some real trippy shit and just don't. Like Control had that real cool smoke shit when the director was speaking, or the alien whatever was pulsating at you, and then it never goes any further.
