I completed the game at like level 70 on hell difficulty. The last dungeon's equipment is insanely strong, focus entirely on getting that. You will have to win two tough boss fights to get the body armor, but get the sword and shoes asap. There are also extremely strong accessories you can get from chests or the fisherman. Equip the spells that inflict poison, paralysis, and sleep, they're insanely good. Get the ones that apply those directly, not the weapon buffs. There's a powerful robot that is immune to all ailments in the final dungeon and you don't need to fight it. Everything else in the endgame is weak against ailments.

Xanadu Next and Nioh 2 are good grindge, Xanadu Next has the whole FF9 style skill inheritance system tied to gear like Astlibra, the Nioh 3 demo had that too with special weapons actually. 13 Sentinels is a good story game.

The heavy warrior class was always my favorite for the end game with its high attack, hp and break. Are you making use of your status effect spells (weapon enchantment or area effect like paralysis and sleep)? Because they help buy you time. I always made sure that before EVERY encounter my chant and maso are maxed out so that I can use any spells I need. Also, did you get the good gear from the fish monger?

If you have the 2nd best gear, you can gradually grind for the final gear (light saber, army/business suit, pumps) since one of the key components comes from the last stage's special boss.
