>Price
There are cheaper headsets that are decent.
>Lack of a market
VR mods and enthusiasts basically create most of the market out of thin air and spite.
>Motion sickness
I think this might be a bit overblown due to the initial bad software and people just using VR wrong (wrong IPD, smooth turning, not drinking, no fan, etc).
>Obtuse setup
At least for Questshit, all you do is put the headset on and for PCVR you just connect to the headset. Very simple.
>Space
I would think that most people have enough space unless they are living under soviet mass housing conditions. Even then, seated VR works. If you have room for a gaming setup, you have room for VR.
>Leisure must be done in complete stillness
I have never understood this, it's this weird anti-marketing against motion controls.
With that said, the real reason for VR not taking off nearly as much is that you can't market it without VR, and if you try to force it anyway then it looks like shit. So much non-enthusiast, normalfag stuff relies on convincing people that a thing is popular and that is simply impossible. You can't even bank on trying to convince them that they would like it, because the vast majority of the people you are trying to still wrangle into VR can't imagine a conditional hypothetical.
