SH2 OG bros, we need to talk. We need to face the facts that the remake chads won and were right all along. The sales speak for itself. It will definitely clear 3 million by the end of the year for the holidays and I could see it going up to 4 milly even after next year. It is currently at over 2.5 million total sales. Silent Hill belongs to blooper now and we cannot do a goddamn thing about it. Feels bad man but such is life.

Anon it is over. Its guaranteed to sell more copies with a sale for Christmas if Konami is smart. Since it mostly has positive reception its probably going to near or even pass 4 million by the end of next year. This will without a doubt solidify it as the most successful SH game by far.

The difference in game-design, writing, atmosphere, pacing and replay value is stark.
SH2 demake is just another shitty SH:Homecoming x TLOU reskin, that waters down and outright CENSORS everything good about SH2, and turns it into a linear hack & slash fest.

There's not much wrong with the remake. Better than the original in some respects. Worse in others. Wouldn't really recommend anyone to play it instead of the original unless they don't have access to any other version but it's worth playing in addition to it.

I don't think so. I don't like how padded out some of it is and I think it loses something without what the amateur voice actors brought to it but the atmosphere, writing, characters are all intact and some of the level design has actually been improved.

I went in expecting them to fuck it up but it turned out fine.

My main issue with the remake is how stuttery it is. Even indoors there are random stutters and you're forced to use fake frames and a fake resolution that made the game even more blurry. Blooper and Konami got their money, so they have no incentive to update the game. It is Abandonware.
