Ge's a "cultural" muslim like every other single immigrant out there who wants to be special but never actually commit. he plays the "im muslim" card only when it's relevant to him getting something out of it, like, when he can 'celebrate' some kind of holiday to get a day off work from or when he can play the victim card or whatever. he's really not adhering to most of what Islam says you should do as and adherer of it since he's not going out there and killing people in the name of Islam nor is he raping women like instructed (yes, the Quran actually encourages you to go out there and do all these things to unbelievers), which FURTHER goes to show he doesn't even know what his Islamic religion is about since he never read the fucking Quran to see for himself.
He likely just let others tell him what Islam is like, got schooled on it by someone else who can just tell him nice things and nothing else, and then he just went with it, but he's genuinely not actually a 'real' muslim since he doesn't even keep to anything Islam tells him to keep to when it comes to some restrictions like not owning dogs (and actually killing them whenever you can, if possible), not eating pork, and not drinking.
