Is it actually a masterpiece?

you have to cover your eyes and ears to pretend the game isnt full of modern left wing liberal type messaging, but if you just fuck off from camp to hunt and rob and do random side content its really great. you have to bear with some extremely anti fun shit like 10 second animations for every little thing even then, however.

The story is also pretty meh and the mission structure is one of the worst in any open world rockstar game when it comes to slapping your hand for not obeying what the devs wanted you to do. It'd honestly be better to just have invisible walls boxing you in during missions, kinda ironic they're so obsessed with immersion while having fail states for walking 3ft in the wrong direction.

yeah and that aforementioned left wing slant doesnt help endear the story to my chuddy self. the game would legitimately be improved by removing everything to do with sadie adler. im also not interested in hearing lessons about how dastardly the white man was to the noble native or how everyone is racist and mean to poor innocent murderers lenny and charles.

All your retarded chud /pol/tard complaints aside, my only problem with the game was that I couldn't hogtie the Valentine maniac when he started eating the Sheriff, and it was scripted that you either had to shoot him or the sheriff automatically shoots him. I hogtied him with the lasso, and sheriff still shot him, and I didn't get my reward, because the game thought I did nothing. This one really pissed me off. That, and obligatory "slow walk after the NPC" missions. Otherwise, great game. Definitely the best Rockstar game, and the story is good, and Arthur is a great character. Sadie, Abigail and Mary-Beth are the hottest bitches. Visually it's beautiful and very comfy and immersive. I also loved all the mysteries and weird shit that was actually in the game. I remember being a kid and hearing all those "urban legends" about Vice City and San Andreas, but none of that was actually in the game. This one has all the neat stuff: UFOs, maniacs, weird people, creepy places, ghosts, etc.

Its a great tech demo for GTA 6. Thats about it. Its boring, repetetive, tedious, has broken systems, mega woke. Cant believe they wasted 5 years on this slop. Shouldve been a waaay smaller game with way shorter development

not him but the worst for me, and i am surprised this hasnt been mentioned here yet, is the horrid inventory/weapon wheel system. You will CONSTANTLY be having to sift through a horrible inventory system, interact with your horse every 2 minutes to grab your rifles which your character is OBBSESSED with stowing on your horse whenever he gets the chance, and for whatever fucking reason missions will swap your weapons in a nonsensical fashion. I remember one mission randomy switched my semi auto shotgun to a carbine repeater and my right pistol to a cattleman revolver when before i was packing dual m1899's.

Also theres no way to drop weapons and thew weapon locker fucking sucks.

theres a mod that makes sadie turn invisible and removes her voice lines, making many of the missions much more bearable. it also leads to some funny shit like arthur talking to himself "we're like ghosts".
