A new Discworld game would be ass; let the canon rest with PTerry.

Now post your favourite novel: Mine's Hogfather.

How much did he write for any of the games anyway? I don't recall him being credited as an actual writer for them, was he?

I absolutely love Monstrous Regiment, and Thief of Time. And all of the Lipwig books. Those are probably my most reread books.

I do think Night Watch is probably the absolute best DiscWorld book.

I wish I'd known about and participated in the kickstarter for the tabletop game though. I don't have anyone to play with, but it would be nice to have been able to add it to the collection.

I donated to that and I believe but not 100% sure that you can still pledge. Although I think it's shipping in around 2 months so you'll have to be quick if you still want to pick them up.

I guess a Telltale style game could work, but given that his daughter's already a pretty big figure in the game industry and nothing's come of it I doubt anything ever will, she seems to take stewardship of it relatively seriously.

>>723681248
Dunno about the games but for the movies he was well known to only sign off if he had the power to veto anything and would constantly use it to keep them accurate to his books.
That's why that Watch TV Series was so fucked. The moment he died, they refused to let anyone else have that veto power and rewrote the whole story.

Nah, Post-Thud! is downhill but stuff like Going Postal is peak. And honestly even more relevant today with like the subplot of the corporate interests buying up the clacks, ousting the original engineers that made it, and making all the service and quality for it go downhill so badly that the post office is able to succeed.

Pratchett predicted enshittification

I feel like most people buy these kinds books online at this point. I know I've had to because my local has finally finished it's two year long transformation into being one half of non-fiction like biographies and cook books and the fiction is all manga, graphic novels, and a couple non-Marvel/DC comics. The actual fiction books are left to two bottom selves. And it's just some of those old penguin orange cover classics like Don Quiote.

I also loved Sourcery because of how much it shows us about Wizards and how they roll, the nature of magic, and being probably the only time Rincewind could uncontroversially be said to have done something heroic. Also I liked Coin from what little we really saw of him as he actually was.

Completely disagree. His books start out interesting and gradually become dumber as they progress. First Mort book, Death takes on an apprentice. Interesting. Last Death book, Death goes Marvel hero and beats up the four apocalyptic horsemen. Dumb. Pretty much every series just becomes Marvel at some point. If Guards Guards had been the last book, Vymes wouldn't wrestled the dragon to the ground while that his rich wife's stupid butler assassin killed the entire assassin's guild.

>>723683567
