My wit is lacking. How do you find your vidya news? Do you watch shows for previews? Do you just wait to see new games to pop up on Steam? My backlog is huge, so I just wishlist and buy them later on sale.

Developers I like usually post about their upcoming games on the steam news page of their previous games. I don't care about /v/tard or e-celeb opinions and can usually determine if a game is good before buying it
