Problem with first-person melee for me is a lot of games don't give you a proper feel of the reach you have, due to most of them using view-model fists, as well as having to band-aid it with some magnetism so you can chain attacks more easily.

VR would fix a couple of those issues easily, but no one's made a proper melee-focused VR game that felt good.
