It's not about the affordability its that we know its not actually supporting development its the paycheck for investors that we're footing.
If a game is GOOD it can be 40 dollars and make a fuckton of money and as long as its dev scale was sane for its project....it will make a ton of profit.
Can't keep trying to drive up prices to keep investment capital firms interested in backing game development in an environment where Schedule 1 literally bodied AC:Shadows.
>muh indie games don't count
Apparently they do....Schedule 1 and E33 were very good examples of how the mainstream industry is failing, and they both did so at far lower price tags.

I love how an argument of somethings' worth gets strawmanned into bullying me about my income as inaccurate as those comments are.
No, I'm someone who understands the value of my time and harddrive space. I know what games I'd rather be playing and spending my money on, and frankly the name of the game with any AAA publisher is "how much can we gut and still justify a full release price?" You want to up that pricetag? Make it worth my while. If you sell me a 30/40$ game for 70$ and THEN tell me you're upping it to 80 you think I will find comfort in the quality you're promising me? There's a reason E3 tech demos were notorious for being fancier builds with better graphics and railroaded demos than the actual releases.

As much as I like to get games for free, I do recognize developers and companies need that return otherwise they're not going to be making games for much longer. I support the good ones.

Nah. I simply do it on my terms. If the price is right and the product is right, I support those business practices, not just because it is fair to me but because this industry needs to cherish and promote those who do their business fairly and ethically. Ubisoft and EA can go burn, My friendship with Nintnedo is over- well they weren't my friends to begin with, but you catch my drift- but I backed the Mindwave Kickstarter because the demo was fun as fuck and I believe in the project. They deserve the props and cashflow because they're making quality.

Games haven't gotten any better in the past five years. Most of them weren't even worth 60 in 2020 and yet they want to increase the price for literally nothing, during a time when people make less money and everything costs more. And every big game company will do it because of complete bootlicking retards like you. Get cancer and die faggot

I can easily afford a $70 game, the issue is that many modern games that come out don't feel worth that price, so then I feel bad because I know they dumped hundreds of millions into the production of some of those biggest titles.

I really wish some of these larger game developers had the sense to have internally produced divisions to make cheaper games with a faster production schedule that could at least provide stopgaps inbetween three years at best for huge tentpole titles. Like guys who can make low-poly 3D games that are fun as fuck or even arcade or action pixel titles that would only cost a few million at most. But no, that'd be too much fun, I guess.

Use a website like isthereanydeal or something to see if other keysellers have the game you want on discount or to track the history of sales that game has got to predict if they will put it on sale soon or if they already had it on sale.
Most games usually go on sale eventually.
