>Ganondorf was behind it all!
>Just as easy as Wind Waker
>Dull ugly version of OoT
>Terrible Anime story
>Useless items
>Dungeons are glorified set pieces
>Overworld is somehow worse than the N64 games.

kek because the other Zelda games have better stories? Fuck off lmao. I don't like TP but I hate people who talk about story in Zelda games. It's always basic as fuck and trash so don't act as if OOT for example had a better story

>cozy starting area
>eerie early first visit of Hyrule Castle under twilight
>unique interesting story
>great music
>epic and grand scenes
>bombastic character designs
>better written characters than in past entries even Majora's Mask at times
>Telma, all the members of the the resistance, Colin. Of course Midna
>fantastical world with fantasy scenery with an emphasis on nature and terrain making Hyrule feel real and believable yet magical
>familiarity of ALTTP/OOT elements with a twist
>rushing the wolf sections is missing the point of the twilight sections meant to feel calm yet oppressive
>grand atmospheric dungeons with believable layouts and open areas
>serviceable puzzles that are more than just obstacles in the way
>items may be odd but they certainly are original and fun to use when we get to use them even if they could use some more usage outside of puzzles like in battle, the double clawshots was the highlight.
>spectacular boss fights
>clever and subtle throwbacks to A Link to the Past
>Zant is a better written antagonist than many would admit
>epic final clash with Ganon in four phases all with different gameplay sections
>Midna sexy in all forms
>sexy topless great fairy as a reward for the toughest challenge
>fishing is pretty neat
It was the peak of the series and could have been greater given more. It got unjustifiably overly criticized and led to the lowest the series has gotten attempting to stray from its vision they should have been instead perfecting

is it better or worse than wind waker, if I had to choose between one of the two?

It seemed like a reasonable score to me at the time.

It's the worst of the "OOT-formula" 3D Zelda games. It's worth literally one playthrough if you can get through it without getting bored and that's it. Wind Waker is better.

I noticed that Ryan Davis dying propelled us into the bad timeline. Everything went to shit after he passed.

Twilight Princess has the best graphics in the zelda series (pic unrel)

Aonuma's OOT era was a time of mediocrity.
Wind Waker is better if you use BetterWW. It's a bunch of stuff ripped from WWHD and the randomizer and put into the regular game. Otherwise I prefer TP.
Both clear Skyward Sword by a wide margin.

Wind Waker is overrated trash
Dungeons are shit, baby-tier puzzles, side quests are shit, story is mid, open world is empty copy-pasted dice islands or fairy fountains most islands are boring and empty.
It's a kiddy game fine for children

I love TP and I think 8.8/10 is a reasonable score. What is this meme, that it's a bad score? That it's an embarrassment for TP? Am I a nigger?

Zelda fans of the year 2006 had a nuclear meltdown over the score, with reactions running the gamut from denouncing the review to death threats, all because they were too retarded to just ignore gaming journalism.

I see.
I guess I got thrown out of the loop since I don't really pay much attention to the franchise outside of TP. It was my first and only Zelda game and Midna completely fucking ruined me. I'm not even talking about porn (though there is that), it's the fact that she felt so integral to my enjoyment and the entire atmosphere of it and without her it feels like something's missing. I tried to do BOTW and couldn't get into it.
To put it into perspective, imagine playing Banjo-Kazooie for the first time, and then finding out that there's actually been a dozen Banjo games before and since its release but none of them have a snarky red bird living in Banjo's backpack who viciously roasts the NPCs.

not anon but in 2006 not a single review site was brave enough to give a low score or else they'd stop getting review copies from big N'
