Arranged marriage is bad. Only brown people think otherwise.

The entire point of Hinako's rejection of the marriage is growing up seeing her dad be an abusive piece of shit.

She didn't massacre anyone outside of the redpilled ending.
In the Shu ending, the village is lost but the people get evacuated.
In the true ending she effectively does the Shu ending without fucking the village up 3 weeks later by cutting off both dieties/paths.
It does mean her mom will die to cancer, tho. Debts and all that.

There is nothing wrong with either NG+ exclusives nor branching storylines. But if something is locked behind a playthrough with an ending, it's simply additional content unless it picks up after the ending narratively. A good game easily accomplishes that.

Small brains will come to the conclusion that Hinako hates men because her father was abusing her and her mother. However, Hinako's true hatred is towards her own mother who she sees as the exact person she is most terrified of becoming. Weak and servile. Complicit in her father's abuse and defending him. Then, most small brains view the entire plot from their Americanised view of the world instead of realising this a Japanese arranged marriage. Hinako doesn't dislike/hate Kotoyuki or men - small brains put their own insecurities and cuck fantasies onto this plot. Instead she is torn between two Hinakos. One is the child-like tomboy who wants to keep playing space wars with Shu forever. The other is the Hinako who realises she has to grow up and accept reality and move with the world. Accepting the marriage offer (killing the other Hinako).
The reality in Japan, at this time, is she needs to be married and start a family - as per Japanese tradition. Small brains again can't grasp their heads other than a Disney-esque view of love. That people can grow up, do and choose whatever they want in life. Marriage in Japan is often one of convenience. Very rarely is there any love involved. Japanese people will date people they don't even like because they truly believe that eventually they will like them given time. That's true for modern day Japan - let alone the 60s. She is scared that Kotoyuki sounds charming and kind for now but so did her father at one time. She is terrified of people changing, even herself.
So you play as the childlike Hinako, scared of growing up (thought this would resonate with most of you /v/irgins), who runs away from her problems and then eventually faces them i.e. "We need to talk about our future". The vehicle of this exploration of her fear is marriage because she's a woman and most woman when they grow up they get married you morons,

tl;dr you are retard if you think the ""message"" is that Hinako hates men and marriage.

Poorly designed games like this one don't deserve further engagement. The real SH games have multiple endings right from the start, and joke endings as bonus. Railroading the player into a specific ending and then going HAHA BUT THIS IS NOT THE REAL ENDING, PLAY AGAIN!!!!111 isn't going to fly. Therefore, wedding dress = final boss. The rest is NG+ bosses.

nobody agrees with this disingenuous argument. you're free to believe whatever you want, it's just a sad way of interfacing with the medium. you are willfully choosing to keep your eyes closed and not engage in any way with the actual narrative.

again, the entire idea of playing games is an optional task in life. there's no such thing as double optional content. it's just as stupid as someone saying to you that Silent Hill doesn't exist in the real Earth we live in, so why do you care?

A Literal Who I watched said the same thing.
The majority of people'll be soured or """filtered""", for anyone who wants to defend their gay ego by that first ending and will likely just drop the game right there regardless of the context of the other endings provide to the overall plot. At that point if anyone wants to argue that it's for "true" SH fans than be my guest because idk who'd be patient enough to appreciate going through the headache of the combat again just for a couple of altered cutscenes. I was patient enough to get all of SH4's ending in 1 week, but even just for fun I wouldn't want to do another playthrough and wouldn't blame anyone who can't stomach that game's repetition.

Also I have a theory they intentionally designed SHf the way they did partly so people feel they got their $70 shekels worth, since the game's on rails (unlike SH2R which was comically bloated) and relatively short if you play on Story mode and ignore most enemies.
