New Vegas is awesome for being an RPG with 3D combat, no doubt. But I've always felt that it was misapplied effort and doomed to inferiority to pure RPGs and Pure combat games.
The oppresiveness and danger of the capital wasteland is simply unmatched and I think it alone holds a bit more artistic merit than New Vegas.
Which is something I never would have imagined myself saying 10 years ago. That Fallout 3 is better as art and New Vegas is better as Vidya.
Fallout 4 can fuck off, though.
