Will the final boss of Weird Route be harder than Sans?

No. It'll probably be only slightly harder than flowey.
Reminder not everyone bothered beating the knight. There is going to be a super boss but the final boss isn't gonna be to difficult

Are we talking "harder than sans" as in, the imaginary version of it in your head you've decided exists having watched it on youtube?
Or are we talking about the actual Sans battle? Because I think we've been past that for a while, sans's battle is almost all cheap shots to wear you down.

Haven't both "weird" route bosses been easier so far?

The only real Weird Route-exclusive fight so far has been fighting Spamton NEO solo at the end of Chapter 2, which is significantly harder than his normal fight

I want to say that The Knight was harder than Sans, but it's been a long time since I did the Sans fight and The Knight's sword attack got nerfed to have less bullshit hitboxes so she's probably easier now

The Knight is easier than Sans. You got better items and equipment to use. If you're good you can blitz through it, while Sans always requires you actually being good.

It really depends on the player and what items you got. If you're fighting the knight you likely have the other 2 Shadow Crystal boss items, on top of the Shadow mantle, making it easier than Sans with the Pie and noodles.
However i think Mantle-less Knight is harder than Sans.

I already thought the Knight was a complete bitch to beat with her RNG split screen attacks that sometimes put you into completely shit situations based on your positioning even if you dodged but at least it was still fun and tense, what actually pisses me off are gimmicky fights like CH4's secret boss, that shit was genuinely awful, maybe its because I never played genocide in UT but the fucking mess of arrows on the screen was just unforgiving, I just cheated my way through that shit since I didn't feel like going through the slow ass pacing again and again just to learn the pattern of one of his last attacks

ch4 secret boss is somewhat divisive in terms of difficulty. Personally I wished it was a lot tougher, or at least that we got a weird route version. This whole release made me pretty worried about weird-exclusive content in general.

Really? I really liked how it shifted the narrative personally, but I guess you must be talking more about the literal sense, if we compare to how much the snowgrave route changes CH2 you're completely right

the ch4 weird route direction is very good IMO, I was just hoping for more (any) unique music/fights so far.
But they may feel averse from doing that, both because Weird is way less accessible than Genocide route was, and because with what heavy themes Weird route is exploring, they maybe don't want to 'incentivize' people to go through with it just to play different bosses.

gerson is weird in general because the latter parts of the chapter don't make nearly as much sense without having done the fight, but it's optional nature means that a decent amount of people didn't do it despite the blaring neon sign telling you to get the axe
what's also strange that it seems like the gerson fight was much harder earlier in development and toby made it easier, presumably he toyed with making it mandatory for story purposes but ultimately decided against it, for whatever reason
worst of both worlds, honestly
either make the fight easier and mandatory so the fake gerson fight and gerson showing up and the end make sense for everyone, or remove both of those and keep the old superboss gerson for people who want a challenge like jevil/ the knight

Even MANTLE is gatekept by S ranking the chapter which has become somewhat infamous as a requirement, and as a hint it still requires some brainpower to connect the blue bird at the end to Berdly. I mean, relative to the critical thinking skills of the average player. Compared to Genocide being "kill all the monsters".

To me it seemed clear that Chapter 4 is meant to be the "lock-in"/"point-of-no-return" for the Weird Route, the train is now out of control but it's going to take some time to fly off the tracks and kill everybody.
Comparing it to Genocide in Undertale, that also doesn't really get locked in until around halfway through the game when you kill Undyne. You can back out before then and things will more or less go back to normal, but after that Hotland is empty and it's a straight shot to the end of the game where you either get Aborted Genocide (Queen Alphys ending) or see it through to the end.
Even then I don't expect Chapter 5 to be completely different, but I do expect it to have a very different tone. I have to imagine that Noelle will be joining the party again in both routes, but Kris will be having a miserable time now that you've broken in Noelle and put a wedge in their relationship with Susie. I'm not expecting Snowgrave 2 but I do imagine whatever happens at the end of the Dark World will play out differently and the ending of the Chapter has to go off the rails at this point (unless it's some shit like the fucking apocalypse starting and everyone has to get in the Bunker).

So with this message being on deltarune.com back in 2016, do most people agree that Gaster is aware of the prophecy if not outright the creator of it?

The thought strikes me as odd though, since his original plan seems to have been to have you inhabit the vessel and help him create a 'new future', but that was interrupted with the soul being given to Kris. If Gaster was aware of the prophecy, then wouldn't he have been aware of Kris's role in it? Or maybe the vessel actually was intended to be The Cage, and the prophecy is already being twisted right from the get-go?

I don't know. Just shouting some autistic Gaster thoughts into the void.

genocide sans mostly just due to length, but frankly i think even if anniversary sans was the same length as genocide it'd probably mostly come down to whichever one you haven't memorized as much, which i guess technically would mean anniversary by default
