Is PvP dying?
In recent years I've noticed a concerning downward trend of PvP games and game modes losing steam and an overall negative sentiment towards PvP in general across the internet. Sure you got a few popular free to play titles still going quite strong but new additions seem to be struggling to lift off the ground and any and all "PvPvE" game has an overwhelming majority of negative feedback demanding PvE only modes to be implemented or to straight up remove any and all PvP from the games. Most multiplayer game developers don't even bother to implement it these days in fear of backlash or just a general disinterest.
It seems that times are changing, players don't seem interested in competition the same way they were just a decade ago, am I stoned or do you think there is any truth to this? What do you think causes this phenomenon?
