Not really. They're overextended and trying to do way too much with too little. NCR can use a good kick back to their borders so they can start focusing inwards.

You're holding on too strongly to the same government system that helped fucked the world over in the first place.
Part of what you're supposed to see throughout the game is that the NCR fucking desperate and spread thin for resources, easily corruptible, easily infiltrated, and to many wastelanders' eyes: just the opposite side of the same invader coin.
You don't have to like the Legion, but the NCR is very flawed because of the fact that it attempts mimic our Republic.

There's no guarantee that the other options, in the far future, won't just result in another bureaucratic republic after a revolution or two. There's also no guarantee other forms of government aren't capable of nuclear war (remember that a communist China was the other major belligerent).
If you're a do-gooder character you might as well side with the most powerful faction that can do the most good for the communities of the Mojave in the present day, that means the NCR. You can play it diplomatically and make alliances. It's interesting that the NCR is so adaptable that it just takes one person doing the right thing to set it straight.
Anyway my point is that "fear for another nuclear war" applies to basically any faction because you can't control what might happen in the future (including House, once you're gone and can't protect him someone could easily assassinate him).

No, but they are deeply flawed. The big issue is that the senate are basically the bitches of the Brahmin Barons so do whatever the fuck they want. The expansionist bullshit is crippling them as well. The taxes wouldn't be as much of a big deal if they weren't going to dumb shit. Ultimately its got early 20th century living standards and you have the best chance to live an okay life there.

Canonically The Courier speedruns the Mojave and does few or zero sidequests. He doesn't stick around and lets the place be someone else's problem. That explains how it all went to hell versus the good endings you get if you bother to do everything the game throws at you.

The game railroads you in many ways to do the NCR stuff, especially during your first playthrough, but again it kind of shows you how incompetent and how out of control things got in their hand. Literally the first mission you do in the game is the consequence of them giving a bunch of criminals access to explosives. And the ramifications of that effects the early game.
You're right: there is no guarantee years into the future there isn't going to be another conflict; Human nature is filled with it.
But giving the keys back to the Republic is attempting to play a Nation's greatest hits soundtrack on a with a really broken recorder.
Part of the questioning of siding with the NCR is 'Do you think that the USA, with every single one of its old world-like flaws, deserves another chance?'
You're in a post apocalyptic world now— the Patriotism hat has been off, buried, and forgotten at this point.
Now you have to really decide.

The best thing that can happen to the NCR is them losing in the Mojave. Its just about how they do it, House's ending does it the most gracefully since they still get access to the dam they just have to pay for it. Which would mean they can still do business in the region and not have to worry about the Legion being so close to their heartland. Not to mention smaller actions throughout the game can lead to greater reform such as delivering evidence to screw over Crimson Caravan and The Van Graffs, as well as telling Hanlon to stop being a retard and get his shit together so he can run for the senate.

As other anons have pointed out they're good but they're overextending because of retarded expansionist policies by Kimball and Oliver while their actual capital is struggling with financial issues
The best ending in NV is objectively House. There is literally no bad consequence unless you're a paranoid reddit schizo who thinks capitalism bad. It's the best ending for the world as a whole as House rebuilds it through the economy in NV, the best ending for the Mojave as the towns only have to deal with some Housebots keeping watch (mostly for their safety) instead of being totally absorbed and forced to grow into something they aren't, the best for the NCR as they're forced to take care of their lands and expel Kimball and Oliver in favor of less corrupt officials, it disbands the Legion and the Khans... only bad part is mistakenly ending the Kings but tbf they are basically a street gang

You know most people don't like living in a lawless battle royale server for too long. That's why anarchy never lasts, nature abhors a vacuum and something has to fill the void before long. It's just a matter of what you want to fill the bubble with. A slave state where everyone worships one guy because no one is educated enough to question it? A bubble where all the rich people fuck off and everyone else gets left behind. Or a democracy where everyone is unsatisfied.

The entire point is that none of the options are great. Because the NCR is just a generic bureaucracy, they'll be as ineffectual and incompetent as the prewar government was. The thing is that there isn't an objective best option. House's Ayn Randian corporatocracy, the fascism of the Legion, and the anarcho-libertarianism of Yes Man are all valid, but not necessarily better alternatives. They're just different flavors that will lead to the same conclusion. The NCR is just a comfortable option for most players ebcause they're a traditionally western governmental concept. No matter what is chosen, war will remain a constant and things won't change. It's human nature to seek conflict. What matters is how limited that conflict can be and whether or not mistakes can be learned from.

Personally, I don't think the NCR is capable of learning from the mistakes of the past. They're well on the way to replicating them. Yes Man presents the best possible future for the Mojave by a wide margin because it allows for the most variables while plainly and brutally ensuring immediate "peace".

You can make ammends between House and the Kings but you need to get rid of the Brotherhood of Steel. I don't disagree with House's distrust on their zealousness but I'd still prefer a path where the Brotherhood could be of some use to the Mojave as a backup plan against any future threats if House fails. Regardless, it's still objectively the best ending, even if House farfetched dreams of advancing humanity are scaled down to a more reasonable constrain.

I dunno, Mojave Brotherhood is barely in a state to be a serious threat, still a threat, granted, but nothing major, not to mention as per Veronica's questline, their xenophobic views are still deeply entrenched, too deeply for them to be trusted not to fuck with the winning faction at some point in the future

Yeah in their current state they are no threat but an alliance with House could see them grow into a Mojave military force to be reckoned with if House's reliance on technology comes to fail in the future against a new threat. At the end of the day, Mojave is an ecossytem of people, not machines, who will help House to craft whatever vision he sells the player and I wish there more paths to make this reality more palpable, even if it directly conflicts with House's cynicism of others but I understand such a political concept would be hard to pull with such a hardened faction as the Brotherhood in such a short period of time.
