Emulating Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness. I owned a GameCube but never played that game. It’s pretty comfy so far. The ‘eck is perfect for it.
Reminder: The Steam Deck and other PC handhelds succeeding is good for the industry, because it means devs are forced to optimize for weaker hardware again, meaning less dogshit performance on desktops.

2027 since I expect Valve will just use a custom cutdown Medusa Point. It aligns with their strategy completely. Plus, they'll get some aspects of FSR 4 anyway with just RDNA 3.5+. It also aligns with Steam Frame either this year or next, and the Steam Fremont next year. It also aligns with Half-Life 3.

It's even better that Microsoft is getting involved and has created a new Handheld preset for their own first party games that translate to the Steam Deck while Sony's using the Steam Deck and the upcoming Steam Deck 2 as test beds for their PS6 handheld. This is going to force even third parties to optimize their shit for Deck along with porting their games to Switch 2.

I think both Microsoft and Sony are realizing, they're blowing too much money on these fancy graphics and performance that their stuff is becoming unaffordable. Most aren't just going to bother getting a PlayStation or an Xbox if they have to pay an arm and leg for it so they're starting to learn how to optimize again and force it on third parties too.

Except the last one which you could not hit 60 fps on 1080p medium setting with a 4060 without dlss. But maybe they improved it idk. Still not paying 80 euro for this.
Imagine playing on a mobile sized screen, games that are meant to be experienced on high definition monitors or TV. What's the point of this bullshit? PSP era is over, get used to it. Bunch of manchildren

It's literally how it works. The lowest common popular denominator decides the benchmarks. Every game on Switch / Switch 2 ported over to PC barely even registers as a blip to modern rigs.

Funny how that worked out with the PS4 and XBONE, two weak x86 systems, huh?
Funny how it continued to work out with the PS5 and Series X and S, huh?

hmm ok so i just finished reading the thread and it sounds like the deck didn't do very well huh? maybe next time it won't be as 'shitted' and 'flopped' as you are all saying

I want you to think about the 360/PS3 era where consoles were COMICALLY underpowered. MGSV runs like a dream because it, just like other titles, were still getting 360/PS3 versions well into 2015.
>>723872553 >game on Switch / Switch 2 ported over to PC
So pixel mobile game tier slop? Yea that wouldn't be an issue on PC.
I'm talking about normal games. How its ported to Deck or Switch or whatever means nothing.
On PC the game will still be demanding

Whats a good program for transferring files to 'eck? KDEconnect just refuses to keep working anymore and I CBA to spend 4 hours debugging both linux and windows to figure out why.

I'd go with scp (haha get it?)
you just have to turn on the sshd.service on your eck (systemctl start sshd.service) and then you can use the windows terminal to run scp
it even has a recursive function to copy entire directories
and scp comes with windows since win10

I'm curious how many are like me that just want to play games that are less hardware extensive. I have a Steam Deck OLED, not sure I would see any reason to ever upgrade. I get it if you're PC only without a good PC.

they said they wont release a deck 2 until there are significant generational gains. as far as i know there hasnt been that much improvement in the low power x86 segment. maybe deck 2 will come in a couple years as ddr6 becomes normalised and amd releases rdna6 or something like that.
