This entire thing is insane to read if people stop to think for two seconds.
>Girl that made Depression Quest fucked a bunch of games journalists in exchange for positive coverage.
Why would any person wish for publicity on his free game that's barely a homework assignment? This isn't a sick tech demo, it's a text game made with a commercial engine. Every single /v/tard can make this game in less than a day, this isn't advertisement material.
>Her ex-boyfriend exposes her publicly.
This happens all across the world. People have abandoned families of 6 for less. For a game barely anyone played. It's not like it was a sick 6 figure heist - literally nothing happened to neither the game, nor Zoe (unless writing a book nobody read is something)
>Gamers start criticizing journos for pay-to-play (or pay-to-fuck) coverage.
Been happening for decades. Director of GameStop was fired because he gave Kane and Lynch a 6 and Eidos made GS fire him because the entire website was riddled with Eidos ads. This was important, and pivotal in video game "journalism", yet everybody talks about some ho that peddled a free game, rather than the AAA publisher openly firing an editorial director for giving a fair score. This has been happening for probably more than 3 decades, and there are still discussions on whether or not we should trust video game journalists.
>Journos wage a full scale culture war against gamers in retaliation. They call gamers misogynists, bigots, losers, etc., over hundreds of written articles.
When Pot met Kettle. Nobody's the good guy here. Gamers are faggots and journalists are corrupt.
>Regular casual normie gamers get caught in the crossfire, they're pissed and confused.
They've never heard of GamerGate.
>They elect Donald Trump as retribution for starting a culture war.
If all of this (likely in combination with other things) led to Trump getting elected, then I finally understand how the USA functions. USA deserves itself.
