Hades 2 Ending Rewrite
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXmNvhqgIu8

Looks like SGG rewrote the ending like their lives depended on it lmao,
Chronos has a few new dialogues where he expresses bitterness over being rejected by his family, that he's made mistakes in the past but can no longer fix them, and that he wishes he knew Melinoe when she was younger.

There's multiple new mirror dialogues between Zag/Mel alongside expansions to existing ones. Zagreus brings up his hesitance to kill Chronos, which enrages Melinoe, and they argue at the ending of one run, before making up the next one. Zagreus says he understands Mel's viewpoint and Mel understands his, saying that she also just wishes she could have her family back and that they both know they're doing the best they can to fix things.

Hecate also senses Mel's growing hesitance and urges her to convince Zagreus by any means she can, to which Mel says "I won't deceive my own brother." There's multiple new dialogues between them where Hecate urges Melinoe to not stray from her task and grows frustrated with her. Melinoe also grows more questioning of whether she really knows that killing Chronos is for the best, what will happen after they kill Time, and if she shouldn't be thinking more for herself.

Near the final run, Melinoe asks that Zagreus attempt to spare Chronos first and then kill him if he won't comply. Zagreus is surprised, but agrees with her. We get the usual good timeline memories with hide & seek, but there's also several new images (including Hades 1 cameos) of Mel & Chronos's good life together. The *entire* family, including Mel, gets the good timeline memories now, and Mel decides for herself to spare Chronos in the present once he's redeemed.
That's still dumb. The only ending that makes sense is chronos suceeding in ending the age of of greco/roman mythology, as the roman empire turns to christianity and the gos no longer have the power to decide the lives of mortals, but supergiant just chickened out of making millenoe (and by extension, player) fail, despite that being the whole premise of the game.

>patiently wait over a year for the game to come out of early access
>buy game on launch, confident that I am now getting the complete experience
>play through the game and get the ending; credits roll
>a month after release, they decide to rewrite the entire ending sequence

for fucks sake. this kind of sours my experience on the whole game; ngl

This is just lazy and takes away all of the gravitas of the original ending. Imagine game studios deciding to rewrite entire arcs through an update on a whim. Your game isn't a finished product. It's a toy.

Yes, video-games are indeed toys, if you hadnt realized this yet you are genuinely retarded.

I don't know if there's any ending where chronos is spared that could salvage it. His father time personality is cringe and gay

Only if Zag was the main character and the goal of the entire game was to redeem his grandpa.

Pretty much this. Chronos was regarded as a tyrant who oppressed cyclops in particular, he was an unpopular ruler. His first instinct on hearing a prophecy that one of his kids would take his throne was to eat his kids. Not exactly the behaviour of a family man.

Way better ending would be that Melinoe puts Chronos back into his prison and Zagreus takes it upon himself to visit his grandpa every "day" and just chill out and play chess or something, given enough time the God of Time would learn to appreciate his extended family and learn to accept the inevitability of the original prophecy.

It's still a fucking meme ending.

This entire story flopped the moment they tried to make it some bigger than life end of the world scenario instead of just some personal family drama like the first game.

The pop up is Dissolution of Time, the incantation you cook up for the ending. God mode is just a damage resist that stacks with failed runs.

From Steam announcement
>Returning to a Real Possibility: Added Cauldron incantation lets you return to an earlier point in the story in case you wish to re-experience key events, such as the True Ending.
I got the tryhard cbt hurdles done and I'm just doing runs for resources and gift slots, having more actual plot should be a plus for the empty run mill
