I love this game but I'm just a newbie
I'm trying different races
should I prioritize buildings that give knowledge and civ points?
should I just make an outpost anytime I find a valuable resource or is 100 gold too much?

Max your city-cap asap
Have a strategy for what victory you want to go for
Have a strategy for what research path you will take (even something simple like "pick anything that bkksts archers")

It's DLC , yes.
Because it's easy to get their gimmic going ( build up devotion -> profit)
Arguably Barbarians and Mystics are up there too , the former for conquest victory , the later for summons playstyle.

Kind of a weird niche where you have to like both layers >>724053414
Mystics are so cracked. I think both attunement and summoning are better than oathsworn.
>played a summon faction >didn't use summons because I thought they were worse than normal units I could produce >mid-late game realize I had so many summoned units buffs that I didn't use

It's a decent game that I've played quite of a bit of (the customisation is cool), but I don't like how they made magic like a world type of effect even in combat rather than the caster launching it. Only Age of Wonders 1 and 2 did that right and if you played them you would know what I mean, but ever since 3 they basically made it much worse which annoys me.
>no mention of dark culture
Baneful curse + wizard king for loads of double casts means negative status protection on everyone.
Personally feel like they should revert the change to sundered defense/resistance so it no longer applies -1 status protection per stack.
