Northstar was such a fun titan. When the game came out I could go whole matches without losing it. Playing distance with the anchor hooks was extremely effective.

It's still vanilla multiplayer. Servers were down for a while after getting hacked, but Respawn reinstated them in late 2023. NS still occupies a niche with its custom game modes, mod support, and server browser, but it rarely reaches more than 15 players globally. If you played Titanfall 2 you'd agree it's shit. Played it a year ago and it's fucking retarded how you can shoot everything from 1km away without even aiming down sights. I assume you didn't play enough to get a chance to appreciate the game's complex movement. I'd suggest giving the game another shot if you're willing, but approach it not as a COD clone but as its own thing. Figuring out the game's movement is an incredibly rewarding process. The fun of the game comes from slidehopping, wallrunning, grappling and mixing these movement techniques together while contending with enemy players and titans. To address your complaints:
>Deaths are inevitable in TF|2, but it's not a big deal since the moment-to-moment pilot gameplay is fun
>Low TTK can be partially circumvented with good movement, and dying to enemies doesn't matter much anyway since respawns are practically instant
>Not needing to ADS is more of a boon than anything, since you don't need to limit your FOV to hit shots from afar

It got killed by releasing at bad times. 2 is still alive on PC EU, only takes a minute to find a game.
BUT shilling time.

There's a game called Diesel Knights being made, about to be on Kickstarter that is Titanfall but with a Steampunk aesthetic. The demo handles very well, the animations are clean and best of all is the game isn't one of those dead indie projects that get 2 devlogs and then abandoned.

The aesthetic sounds a bit like Wolfenstein. Looks kinda cool. Although I absolutely hate 3rd person, so for me personally, you'd better work a lot on immersion and first person mode as well. It's what I like in mecha games, the feeling of heaviness while piloting a massive piece of machinery.

It probably won't be big like Titanfall but it's still a game using big mechs and free running.

Plus they're trying to make it a better Tf1, customisable mech classes and top mounted guns so you can pop out the hatch, shoot a 50cal while your mech AI is fighting for you.
