In the sense of movement/combat, not the puzzles.
RE remakes tend to have the pattern of complicating the original simpler puzzles which annoys some, but I'm indifferent towards that change.

In the original it's a short scene that
a) gives you a bit of the plot(if you skipped into)
b) introduces the character who didn't lose grip even dying(it's a setup for another scenes)
c) opens you dors to 2 other areas
From a gameplay perspective, it works flawlessly, Remake introduces you a sloppy dialog, then another one, then he's a zombie

this is my experience as well. downloaded dolphin after finishing remake2 and played the original re2/3 for the first time and they are far better games even had me coming back to replay them.
you wont catch me playing any of the new demakes
