What do you arbitrarily define as a "actual RPG"? I think Owlcat games is one of many RPG developers. For example, Underrail exists, with Underrail 2 coming soon™. Iron Tower Studios exists and has released Colony Ship and Age of Decadence (games that are frankly more "hardcore RPGs" than Owlcat's games).
Then there's also Larian, which makes pretty much only RPGs, Dragon Commander and L.E.D Wars notwithstanding. Despite what some retards may claim, BG3, for example, was way more of a actual RPG than WotR or Rogue Trader, inspite of the bad story and simple rulesystem, and thus boring character building it had. It had way more reactivity and player agency in actions, with character stats determining the results of both combat and non-combat outcomes. WotR in comparison barely bothered to even acknowledge I'm playing a murderous Demon, with me getting different coloured fireworks in the last DLC. Woah! Class and race reactivity? Yeah, once in act 1.
So again, what do you mean by "actual RPGs"? To me, RPGs are defined by intrinsic character stats affecting both combat and non-combat outcomes in a meaningful way. What is your definition that only Owlcat passes?
