How do we solve the hacker problem on FPS? Shooters are more popular than ever and unplayable dogshit because of these fucking things and chink software. Devs can make their video games uncrackable but refuse to put proper anti cheat measures in place.

If a private server has donations theres a huge conflict of interest for the admins. On the one hand they want to keep the server free of cheaters, on the other the suspicious player may be donating large amounts to the server.

One of the first threads I saw on here was people making fun of BC2 servers doing that. Related, I remember some dude on /vm/ saying he was an admin for a BF4 server and admitting to just banning players that were stomping everybody too hard and outright saying he didn't care if they were really cheating or not because they were ruining it for everybody regardless.

It's funny how many times I get accused of cheating it's not even when I'm having a great game and hitting crazy shots but when I feel like I'm playing subpar and not doing anything impressive. It's bizarre getting some seething accusation over the most humdrum shit that I never could have expected anybody would think was cheating.

Now that you mention it, I wonder how much of the cheating people complain about in a game like Tarkov is really just the game being buggy and having dogshit netcode.

Delusional. You're not going to have anywhere near that many active servers with decent rulesets and ping even in fairly populated games. I remember playing CoD as a teenager and getting banned from the only server I got good ping to from the west coast that didn't just max out the player count past what the maps were designed for. I was also absolutely awful then compared to now but was still good enough to get banned from the servers I liked. I imagine it'd be far worse now.

its been forever since I played a game that actually had Community servers, but back when I played TF2, most of the 'good' players didn't constantly just play to win 24/7 they quite often just simply fucked around, doing real well with what was often joke or simply subpar meta/weapons, especially when they found a server they liked, and you rarely ever saw shit asside from like blatant spinning aimbot cheaters since all the motivation was to have fun.

my belief is the huge amount of cheaters in modern FPS games, is partially due to how normal MMR and stuff like it has become, its made a lot more people cheat because its turned the 'have fun from simply playing regardless of how well the player is doing' into 'can only have fun if constantly winning/getting better numbers'
