Because Stream reviews are not always accurate.
If you don't like a single negatively reviewed game, you don't play enough games, or you have narrow taste.
A lot of people gave Dakar a negative review because the game was crashing.
The free DLC is what crashes the game. I figured that out and got a ton of thumbs up on my review, because it fixed the game. Most people don't do any research.
Have another negatively reviewed game that is objectively fun, even though it's janky. A lot of people will negatively review games that don't hold their hand and don't tell them what to do. Complicated games make people feel dumb, and that makes them angry.
Dakar doesn't have a map. You have to follow a road book and there is no track. It's basically open-world racing. People suck at the game.
