You don't really need any mods, really
Just keep multiple saves, ie have 4-5 'saves' and save every 15 minutes
Fallout 3 GotY is pretty stable by itself.
About every 4-5 hours go to any house or building indoors and rest 73 hours/3 days and one hour to 'reset' cells. This stops things fucking up a bit
Level scaling is athing in this one like in Oblivion but a few things to keep in mind, while the DLC can be done at anytime, Point Lookout is considered hard and done a bit later, Mothership Zeta is completely stand alone and can be done early (ideally around level 7-8, I think the aliens get retarded powerful at level 10+ but if you wait abit to get good weapons, you're good), The Pitt, no comment, really, Operation Anchorage is like Mothership Zeta, standalone but it requires a lot of fucking combat skill imo so wait till you got around 60-70 in your chosen stat and a few levels
Broken steal is post game
you might want to start lowering difficulty a bit around level 21+ since some enemies are tanky as fuck

Please do not advise people to do this. TTW is, while not acompletely shit idea, fundementally changing the base game to the point the modders stated 'they know better than the developers of how Falllout 3 was designed'. It's a completely game altering mod
