Halo 3 had the weakest campaign of the og trilogy. Its still fairly good but they should have done more with Arbiter and Chief. The game had too much of a depressing tone especially towards the end. Almost like it was poetic of what was to become of the franchise.

I think it's above 2 overall. I liked most of the human levels in 2 especially Cairo and Delta Halo, some of the arbiter levels, but it goes downhill when you get to the brutes.

I still think CE is the best campaign, 2 for me was a huge disappointment I find the gameplay anti-fun, and the story rushed and lacking. 3 is at least fun to play through except for the flood nest level.

I like ODST because it's what I thought 2 would be like, fighting the covenant on earth like all the marketing.

H3 Brutes at least got upgrades and work more like Elites, just not as well. H2 Brutes were just damage sponge boring dudes that then rush you down, there wasn't any depth to them yet. They were not a good overall replacement for the Elites, but you can't say 3 didn't try.

Things wrong with Halo 2:
>Jackal snipers everywhere so you must have a BR/carbine
>Can't get close to anything so must have a BR/carbine
>Much easier to snipe elites/brutes with a beam rifle than try to have a fun fight with them, so you must also have one of those
>Flying bug enemies shit to fight
>Brutes shit to fight
>Flood shit to fight
>Vehicle sections are slow shooting ghosts one after the other as they pop around a corner
>Most fights the only solution is snipe and spamming plasma grenades
>Slowly chipping away at enemies trying to get the headshot with BR/carbine from far away is boring
>At least the MCC version fixes reticle being too low but guns still take up way too much of the screen especially when dual wielding
>Duel wielding is pointless because you need to snipe and grenade everything
>Having no health is weird is seems completely random how many hits you can take when the shield is down
>Allies die too quickly although this was the same in CE on Heroic to be fair

MCC by default also fucks the enemy processing and firing patterns up, the higher FPS raises their AI tickrate so they're way more retardedly aggressive to the point that the Jackal snipers can literally shoot twice at once. If you ever thought the game was even harder than you remembered it to be, that's why.

I've heard this but I'm pretty sure that happened on the original release too. My main gripe with the jackals is it changes the game too much, in CE the only long range weapon is the sniper rifle and it's very limited by ammo. Enemies don't have long range at all, every fight is a scrum, and that makes it fun.

Halo 2 you simply must sidestep in and out of cover sniping and headshotting everything otherwise you'll never get through it. It's not Halo anymore.

The first levels in the jungle and base are pretty boring. The only level I could remember is the one with the hornet because everyone played that online. I couldn't remember the end levels at all because I never replayed them.

Honestly I think my next H2 playthrough will be with whenever Ruby Rebalanced releases, mostly because the Jackal Snipers aren't so deadly and even use Carbines instead sometimes.

dual needlers is highly effective because of their aggressive tracking and only needing a short burst to kill anything.

You can literally just zoom through them in a ghost or warthog without needing to engage.

Not true, especially sonce you can cheese a good chunk of the game with squeezing a ghost or banshee in places where they shouldn't be, including the tartarus fight. Adding to the nitpicks though.

I did this on Heroic this month and it was such a slog, but a relief to get through. It's always tempting to run through a group but you have to wait for them to stop spawning before moving on. Usually you can always retreat and make space if it gets too much. The part where you have to wait for GS to open a door for you ina confined space sucks though, nowhere to move.

I just played The Library today again after like 7 years, completely unforgivable, especially when the mission title card things start basically mocking you everytime you go up an elevator.

honestly, the h2 weapons gotta be looked at in a different lens. the battle rifle is the magnum (literally), the smg is the ar. the magnum sucks for direct combat compared to ce, but headshots are kind of underrated, just like the odst iteration; mixed with a weapon to strip shields, it instantly kills on headshot. someone that makes good use of dual wield can be a real menace with it, they're just never gonna typically be trying that online when the br exists.

They had a great balance with CE and I guess they felt under pressure to add more guns, but you have a bunch of guns with no real use because stepping within 50m of a pack of enemies means instant death.
