The Battlecruiser. It remains my favorite space ship across all media. Only the original version, though. I don't like the remastered one and the less said about SC2 the better.

Judging from the way the appeared in the cinematics, like the Amerigo one, either that was an old conception for them, there was some poor communication, or it's just a technical reason (IIRC, SC2 has them use their claws in melee, but they also look incredibly retarded in that game).
Anonymous No.724692979 [Report]
>>724692872
Someone with the right to decide everything said that hydralisks would be too similar to zerglings is my guess. The game has precedents of units having two more or less proper weapons so, unless they tried and failed to make it a ranged unit that only uses claws in melee, it was that.

For me, it's the Goliath. The most versatile and cool ground unit. I've always been a fan of the mechanical walker like robots.

I have recurring dreams where I am flying the Terran Wraith like I'm a Hero Unit and laying waste to an entire map full of enemies. I'm bound by the games rules but when pushed into a dangerous situation things become "realistic" and I can launch a salvo of Gemini Missiles and destroy buildings with one barrage. The Burst Lasers can be shot with rapid fire and punches holes through buildings before setting them ablaze. Once, I was Locked Down and forced to abandon the Wraith and on foot I was basically a reskinned Ghost, but I didn't have access to the Lock Down or Nuclear Strike skills but kept the Cloaking. I went through the enemy base while Cloaked and slowly killed the entire army one by one.

Then SC2 came out and Hydra dropped from #1 slot to utter garbage, both in performance and look. A damn shame.

Pretty much. SC2 (like Diablo 3 which released around that time) tried to copy WoW's artstyle too much and everything looked like plastic.
The only thing I liked about SC2's Zerg was how the Evo Chamber had an actual skull and spinal cord exposed when you destroyed it

And, if I remember correctly, you can't mod the original portraits anymore either. At least not easily like in the original. That probably doesn't matter in most cases, unless you wanted to play something like Antioch Chronicles (in all its unfinished glory), though.

Its absolutely insane how much better sound design SC1 has compared to 2. Each units voiceline immediately tells you by feel what the unit is for and how you should use it.

The better question is why aren't they making a starcraft battlefield game (where you can play as any faction and as most units)

As for the unit, very unoriginally it's hydra. They're just so cool. Ultras are good too, but only sc1 ones.

The defiler attack was in the game but was dummied out, along with the high templar attack, which only Tassadar kept

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtVtRTtloz4

The manual also incorrectly stated that the Queen has the glaive wurm attack which the Mutalisk got.

The sound files of the Spire and the Defiler Mound buildings are also switched on an error and never got fixed.
