yeah I unironically enjoyed the first 4.
5 got a little weird though it had some cool scenes.
I thought 6 was ass, it threw away everything from the previous movie, cucked Wesker and made the Game of Thrones guy the villain because Game of Thrones was popular

The first one is actually kind of decent by turn-of-the-millennium horror standards, as long as you ignore any connection to the actual games.

The sequels get increasingly stupid and shlocky but are still somehow more entertaining and reverential to the source material than the recent reboot movie and series, which are technically more "faithful" to Capcom's lore but both piss all over the story and character bits people actually like because ((they)) can't help themselves from being subversive.

They're entertaining films made with a lot of passion and love for Resident Evil. Screen Gems definitely meddled a lot, though.

I was about to post this lol

1 is OK, sort of an AU story of how the Raccoon City incident happened, but the laser hallway was stupid as shit.
2 is decent, probably as good as a RE3 movie we will ever get, but still sucking off OC Alice Donutsteel while Jill just gets to stand around and look impressed at what Alice is doing.
Didn't see the rest of the live action movies, didn't care with how stupid they were getting.
The CGI movie with Chris and Leon with the retardedly over the top fights was entertaining just for how stupid the fight scenes got.
Best unexpected comedy was watching the interviews on the RE2 DVD where the rest of the cast looks visibly embarrassed and disgusted every time Milla opens her mouth. You can tell they are struggling to not just shout at her to shut her stupid mouth. It was like watching some kids forced to hang out with some special needs kid, who know they will get in trouble if they don't treat him nicely.

They're bad resident evil movies, just like RE5 is a bad resident evil game.
They're both very enjoyable in certain capacities, but they're incredibly disappointing if you go in with expectations the series had been creating up until that point.
RE4 became a bad resident evil game by the end, but there's hints of it throughout the entire thing that it gets a pass on because of how good the village and castle sections are on the tone.

It deserves some credit for taking a story as notoriously bad and convoluted as Resident Evil's and making it worse. Surprised it didn't end in fucking time travel.

Eh. There's some fun scenes, laser scene in 1 and STARS shootout in 2, and decent production value on a few of them, a neat Marilyn Manson theme, but who takes an RE1 movie and sets it entirely in the lab, the most generic shitty part of the game. They're generally just quippy, borderline PG action nonsense. I saw them before I played any of the games and I don't know why you'd think anything of them unless you're unreasonably attached to them because you watched them when you were 12.
I watched them when I was 12 and they're not anything special. I am more powerful than you.

All modern resident evil games are bad "RE games". Werewolves, Evil Dead references, Lady D, Saw movie sections, Heisenberg Magneto, the fungus mind control. The minute they got rid of zombies/the T-virus it stop being RE. I would have loved a faithful movie adaptation of RE 1, 2 or 3 but most of the RE movies are a fun dumb watch.

A lab set cost less to make and shoot in, making the movie cheaper to make. That's it, that's all it is, a big mansion set with lots rooms and antiques is more expensive and horrors movies are shot as cheaply as possible. Why do you think Dawn of the Dead was shot in a shopping mall? It was cheap.
